Ad operations and conversion tracking

Get the tracking right before you spend

The most expensive mistake in paid advertising isn't a bad ad. It's spending three months optimising against a conversion that was never firing.

What this actually is

It happens constantly. The campaign runs, the platform reports conversions, and the numbers look reasonable. Six weeks later someone checks against the actual enquiry inbox and the two don't match at all. The algorithm has spent the entire budget learning from wrong signals.

Ad operations is the unglamorous work that stops this. Conversion actions defined properly. Pixels firing once, not three times. Server-side events where the browser can't be trusted. Attribution windows set to match how long your customers actually take to decide, which for a restaurant is minutes and for a clinic might be weeks.

We verify every event live before any budget goes on. That means placing a test enquiry and watching it land in the right place, in the right account, counted once.

What it covers

01

Conversion mapping

Every action worth counting, listed, with what each one is actually worth to the business. This sounds like paperwork and it's the step that decides whether the ad platform's algorithm learns anything useful.

02

Pixels and tags

Google Ads and Meta pixels installed, deduplicated, and checked for the double-firing that makes a campaign look twice as good as it is. Tag Manager containers organised so the next person can read them.

03

Server-side tracking

Where browser restrictions and ad blockers are losing a meaningful share of your conversions, we move the measurement server-side. We'll tell you honestly whether your volume justifies the extra complexity, because often it doesn't.

04

Offline conversions

If deals close on the phone or in person, the ad platform never learns which click produced them. Offline conversion import closes that gap and usually changes which campaigns look worth funding.

05

Attribution windows

Set against how long your customers genuinely take to decide. A restaurant decides in minutes and a clinic can take weeks, and using the platform default for both guarantees one of them is measured wrong.

06

Verification before spend

We place real test conversions and confirm each one arrives, once, in the right account. Nothing goes live because it ought to work.

What you get

  1. 01Conversion actions defined for your real business outcomes
  2. 02Google Ads and Meta pixels installed, deduplicated and verified
  3. 03Server-side tagging where browser tracking is unreliable
  4. 04Offline conversion import set up if you close deals on the phone
  5. 05Attribution windows matched to your actual sales cycle
  6. 06A test-and-verify pass, documented, before spend starts

How it runs

  1. Step 1

    Map

We list every action worth counting and decide what each one is actually worth to you.

  2. Step 2

    Wire

Tags, pixels and server-side events installed and deduplicated.

  3. Step 3

    Verify

We place real test conversions and confirm each one lands correctly. Nothing goes live on trust.

What it costs

How it's pricedFixed project fee

A one-off setup. If we're already running your paid media, this is included rather than billed separately.

We don't publish a number for this one, because an honest one depends on the job. Tell us what you're trying to do and you'll get a real figure, in writing, without a sales call first.

Get a figure in writing

Is this right for you?

Probably, if

  • You're about to start advertising
  • Your ad platform's conversion numbers don't match your real enquiries
  • You're running ads across more than one platform and the totals don't add up

Probably not, if

  • You're not advertising and don't plan to. This is specifically for paid campaigns.

Questions we get asked

Why not just use the platform's automatic setup?

Automatic setup counts pageviews and calls them conversions. It's better than nothing and worse than it looks, because it teaches the algorithm that the wrong things are valuable.

What's server-side tracking and do I need it?

It sends conversion data from your server instead of the visitor's browser, so ad blockers and browser restrictions don't lose it. You need it if a meaningful share of your conversions are going uncounted.

Do you need access to my ad accounts?

Yes, as a user on your account. The account stays yours, and so does everything in it.
